Our courses can be scheduled on weekdays, evenings, or Saturdays. We can accommodate a few teachers up to your entire staff.

Great Explorations in Math and Science

Instructors: Linda Morrow and Deena Jorgenson

Date of Course: Saturday, January 28th 8:30-3:30

Location of Course: Frontier Conference Room 600 N. 9th Place Show Low

Course Description: Go on a journey using GEMS to embed math, writing, science standards and critical thinking.  These activities will engage learners at all levels, creating opportunities to discuss and defend the reasoning to support their work!  Challenging students with questions that will tackle critical thinking is the basis for GEMS from the Lawrence Hall of Science.  Math Around the World, Crime Lab, Bubble Festival, Group Solutions, and Frog Mathare just a few of the guides that will be introduced during the six-hour session.  The target grade levels are 2nd – 6th, but other grade levels are welcome to attend. 

CEU: 6 hours

Cost: $25

Resource:  Each attendee will receive a GEMS Guide of their choice
