Navajo County Sheriff’s Office
Inmates housed in the Navajo County Jail may send and receive mail without limit
with the following exceptions:
All mail MUST be sent through the U.S. Postal Service.
Incoming mail must have the sender’s first and last name as well as a full
The Following items will NOT be accepted:
- Envelopes with personal drawings or writings, stickers, scotch or masking tape, glitter, glue, marker, gel, oil, or paint.
- Incoming mail that contains clues, lipsticks, watermarks, unknown stains, stickers, marker, and any odor of perfume or colognes.
- Photos larger than 5”X 7”, Polaroid photos, photos depicting illegal activity, anything gang affiliated, or sexually suggestive.
- Blank sheets of paper, envelopes, stamps, address labels, magazine or newspaper clippings, ribbon, string, laminated cards, musical cards, or cards larger than 5”X 7” staples, paperclips, scotch or masking tape, glitter, confetti, glue, marker, gel, oil, or paint.
Photographs may be mailed to the jail but can be no larger than 5 x 7. No Polaroid, adhesive-backed photos, or photos with frames will be accepted. Inmates can receive no more than five (5) photos. Photos or drawings depicting criminal acts, gang activity, or nudity are not allowed.
Computer printouts are allowed to be mailed into the jail. Inmates can receive no more than ten (10) pages per week. Printouts depicting criminal activity, nudity, or gang activity are not allowed.
Paperback books may be mailed to the jail but must be like new with both covers and no larger than 6”X 8”. Inmates are only allowed to receive one book, if multiple books are received, the inmate will be allowed to choose one book and
the rest will be donated to the jail library.
If a Bible is received along with other paperback books,
the inmate may receive the Bible and one of the books.
Puzzle books or crossword puzzle books will be accepted but will be treated with the same
limitations of the paperback books. NO writing will be accepted in either paperback or puzzle books
