Emergency Call Out Criteria

An on-call officer will respond to an emergency callout through Navajo County Sheriff Dispatch for the following reasons only:

  • Animal Bites
  • Animal Attacks
  • Animal Injuries
  • All Potential Rabies Issues or Exposures (including bats in sleeping quarters)
  • Law Enforcement Assistance

*Please also note that calls about stray animals and barking dogs DO NOT constitute a valid reason for an emergency callout and will be responded to on the next business day.

If it is an imminent life or death emergency:

Call 911

*Please note that Animal Control WILL NOT respond to any of the following:

  • Snakes in living or sleeping quarters
  • Wild animals walking across yards
  • Bats in attics or open carports
  • Animals under houses or up in trees
