Navajo County Crisis Response Services
Victim Services offers 24-7 mobile crisis response advocacy to victims of crime in Navajo County. Our dedicated team of professionals and volunteers provide 24-hour crisis intervention services to victims either by phone or in person. To reach a crisis response advocate, you can call (928) 524-4026, Option 1. Listen and select the prompt for the victim’s corresponding current physical location.
Advocates are contacted by law enforcement or emergency service providers after the scene is cleared and secure. Victims themselves can also contact our crisis advocates by calling the phone number above or requesting an advocate through their Officer.
We have advocates situated near all 5 townships within Navajo County, including Show Low, Pinetop-Lakeside, Show Low, Snowflake/Heber Overgaard, Holbrook, and Winslow. Those advocates respond to their assigned location Monday through Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM.
Our advocates rotate on-call after hour crisis coverage during non-regular business hours to cover crisis calls county wide. Since our county is large, it may take an advocate longer to respond in person after hours.
When an advocate is called, they will conduct a quick assessment and intake over the phone with the victim or the emergency provider. Based on each victims unique needs and the distance the advocate might be from the victim, a determination will be made as to whether an in-person response is available and or if the victims emergency needs can be addressed by phone.
All communication with your advocate is confidential and can shared only if the advocate receives permission from the victim or in the event the information provided is considered exculpatory.
Also, a victim does not have to report their crime to law enforcement to receive services from an advocate, unless the crime falls under the Arizona mandated reporting law, ARS 13-3620.
