Judge Scott Tipton was raised in Tempe, Arizona, and is a graduate of ASU with a B.A. in Asian Languages.Judge Tipton began his legal career as a Tempe Police Officer and graduated from the Arizona Law Enforcement Academy (ALEA) in 1998.Due to injuries received in an on-duty shooting incident, then Officer Tipton was forced to retire from the Tempe Police Department in 2001.
Scott Tipton started a career in real estate after retiring from the Tempe Police Department and moved his family to the Show Low area in 2006. Scott Tipton ran for the office of Show Low Justice Court Constable in 2010 and served in that position for 12 years until he was elected as Justice of the Peace in the Show Low Justice Court in 2022.
The Show Low Justice Court handles misdemeanor criminal cases, civil traffic, felony initial appearances and preliminary hearings, orders of protection/harassment, evictions, weddings, and civil matters of $10,000 or less. The Precinct Five Justice Court serves the communities of Show Low, White Mountain Lake, Linden, Pinedale, and Clay Springs.
