The Show Low Justice Court handles misdemeanor criminal cases, civil traffic, felony initial appearances and preliminary hearings, orders of protection/harassment, evictions, weddings, and civil matters of $10,000 or less. The Precinct Five Justice Court serves the communities of Show Low, White Mountain Lake, Linden, Pinedale, and Clay Springs.
Judge Shirley S. Patterson took office in January 2019 and was appointed Show Low City Magistrate in December 2018. Prior to being elected Judge, she had already served as a Pro Tempore Judge in Navajo County for over nine years. Judge Patterson has been involved with the Teen Court Program for the last ten years and is a contributor to its continued success. This program allows student offenders to plead his or her case before a jury of other students for the most appropriate punishment. Judge Patterson has lived in the Show Low area for 42 years and is a Graduate of Show Low High School.
