Public Works Deputy Director of Planning and Development Services

Michael “Mischa” Larisch started working for Navajo County in August 2022 as the Public Works Deputy Director of Planning and Development Services. Before joining Navajo County, Mischa worked for the Town of Springerville, where he served as Community Development Director. Prior to moving to Arizona, Mischa served 5 years as Planning and Community Development Director for Grant County in Silver City NM.  He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology and Botany from Western New Mexico University. Mischa is a Certified Floodplain Manager and International Code Council Certified Residential Building Inspector.

Purpose:

Navajo County Public Works Department has the responsibility in the areas of Planning and Development to promote control and regulate growth of development; Building construction to regulate and monitor design, construction, materials, location and use of such through inspections, and installation of Manufactured Homes; Septic System design and installation of conventional systems and some alternative systems; and compliance of the regulations that support the above by code enforcement.
