Infectious Disease Investigation

Infectious disease investigation is a vital role of Public Health. By law, hospitals, healthcare facilities and other providers are required to report certain infectious diseases to the local public health department. When these reports are received our staff begins a process called contact tracing; identifying all persons who came in contact with the patient so that testing and treatment can be administered in a timely fashion.

Our staff also follows up on suspect cases of Norovirus or other foodborne illnesses to ensure that local grocers and restaurants are abiding by all codes and regulations.
